Born in Miyako Island, Okinawa, Japan.  Graduate of the renowned Tsuji Culinary Institute of Osaka, Japan.  Arriving in Los Angeles in 1985, created sensation to the sushi & washoku scene in the United States by challenging a diversity of culinary aproaches. Current owner and executive chef of Katsu-ya Group.  The restaurants is a consistent winner in the ZAGAT restaurant guide.  Also current assistant president of Japan Restaurant Association.
